National Police Memorial 2009

Today I attended the National police Memorial Service. It is the first one I have attended and I felt most honoured to be there.

When your life was tragically taken I was a Special Constable, my then partner and brother were serving officers. Today I thought about you and all those fallen officers who honour the word 'hero'.

Your husband did you proud today . . . .

RIP - We will remember you . . . . x

God Bless You

Sharon, I had only just joined as a police officer myself when we all heard about your tragic death. It was then i realised how much responsiblity we have and how much danger we face. I know your family are as proud of you as every one of your colleagues across the world are xxx

How cruel and sad that in trying to make this world a safer place for us all to live you paid the ultimate price, departing this world in such a cruel and terrible way. May you find eternal peace in heaven. xxxxx

It Makes You Think....

Sharon, i am a police officer with Sussex Police and was doing my training at Ashford the day you were killed. We held one minutes silence, raised the flag and saluted you. I have never had a chill go down my spine like i did that day. It bought home that when we put our uniforms on in the morning and kiss our loved ones goodbye, we don't know what will happen and if they will ever see us again. I hope that members of the public take heed at the danger we put ourselves in to protect them, people we have never even met. You are a true credit to every officer Sharon. Rest in peace PC Beshinivsky.

Still thinking of you

As the sun surely sets,
Dawn will see it arise,
For service above self,
Demands its own prize.

You have fought the good fight,
Life’s race has been run,
And peace your reward,
For eternity begun.

And we that are left,
Shall never forget,
Rest in Peace friend and colleague,
For the sun has now set.

We will Remember. WE WILL REMEMBER.
Hasten the dawn.

I never knew you Sharon, but I know Paul & Teresa, having met them at various Police functions - my husband was killed just before you. I know you are watching over them, and I know how very proud of them you will be. You are a true inspiration and I am so sad you have gone. I am sorry your family have had to go through this terrible time xx

WHY

You were answering a call most of answer on a daily basis and think - alarm set off in error - you never think it will happen.

Too many people are picking up weapons and too many police officers are being killed doing the job they love.

My thoughts are with Sharons family and all of the families of police officers killed recently.
